Kai Hakala#
Kai Hakala is a SMTS Software Development Engineer at AMD Silo AI, focused on large language models (LLMs). He has 15 years of experience in language technology, working on both pretraining and post-training, with a recent focus on reinforcement learning in multilingual settings.
His background also includes speech synthesis, speech recognition, and computer vision, with experience building and deploying machine learning models across these domains.
Kai holds a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Turku, Finland.
