Ruturaj Kiran Vaidya#
Ruturaj Kiran Vaidya is an MTS Software Development Eng. at AMD in Austin, Texas, leading AMD’s JAX team. He heads the open-source JAX-AITER project—bridging JAX/XLA with AMD’s high-performance AITER GPU kernels via FFI integrations—and drives core engineering to maintain and optimize JAX on ROCm. His work focuses on delivering efficient, production-ready kernel libraries and compiler/runtime optimizations to accelerate large-scale training and inference on AMD GPUs, with an emphasis on performance, portability, and developer usability.
Ruturaj earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and his M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Kansas. His doctoral research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of applying source-level security checks to software binaries, encompassing reverse engineering, binary analysis, and software security. He has also worked on understanding software ecosystem security risks in language-based package and dependency systems. He brings that systems-and-security mindset to high-performance ML infrastructure, aiming to make modern AI stacks faster, more scalable, and more robust across diverse hardware.
