Nick Romero#

Nick is a SMTS software developement engineer enabling PyTorch on AMD GPUs with a focus on community issues, TunableOp, and TorchInductor. He holds a PhD. in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2005). He has worked both in industry and in the government sector. At Argonne National Laboratory, he was a computational scientist for over 10 years’ designing, developing, and optimizing scientific software for several generations of supercomputers. Five of those years was as a group leader managing a team of computational scientists supporting projects at at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility. He worked at Intel as a front-end compiler engineer and Samsung Semiconductor as a systems engineer. He has over 30 publications and has contributed to several community codes.
