Pratik Prabhanjan Brahma is an AI technical leader with experience in research and development, scaling and driving business growth through innovation. He is currently managing a team in AMD India focusing on building state-of-the-art Generative AI that includes language models, vision language models as well as text-to-video models. Prior to joining AMD, he was leading a team at Cruise to build the best data-centric methods for training prediction and behavior planning models that help understand the surrounding scene, forecast near future and make the best possible decisions for autonomous vehicles. He was previously at Electronics Research Lab (R&D of Volkswagen Group) where he spearheaded several projects like continual learning, joint perception & prediction and generative models for creating realistic corner cases data. He has 11 patents to his name and has published papers in top-tier workshops and conferences such as NeurIPS, ICCV, CVPR, WACV, as well as in journals like IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems. He has also been invited to speak at events such as ICPR, ISQED and Re.WORK Summit. His academic background includes a PhD from University of Florida, where his dissertation laid out a theory behind why deep learning works. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
