Saad Rahim

Saad is a software product manager for the Instinct GPU software stack responsible for packaging, documentation, drivers, and runtimes. He is the driving force behind launching ROCm blogs and is on its steering committee. His product management role allows him to be involved in every facet of GPGPU development at AMD.

In a previous role in engineering, Saad worked on the transition to the AMD clang compiler from hcc, built the CI system for the ROCm math & communication libraries and lead the transition to docs-as-code for ROCm documentation. He was also the architect for the first release of ROCm on Windows. He probably contributed to every single repository that is part of ROCm.

Saad is fond of skiing, biking, and enjoying the Canadian Rockies with his family. He also loves driving ROCM, his red Audi S3.

Since 2007, Saad’s jobs kept him in the GPUGPU industry. He has only worked for A-list companies: Aga AB, Advanced NPD, Acceleware and AMD. He holds an MSc and BSc in Electrical engineering from the University of Calgary.
